The announcement comes two months after the pair revealed at the UN General Assembly its intent to expand Zipline infrastructure to improve care access nationwide.

Patients of the medical center's hospital-at-home program in Minnesota and Florida will be able to receive home deliveries via Zipline's drones.

Customers in College Station can now have their medication delivered to their front door in 60 minutes via Amazon's drone delivery service.  

It has delivered medicines within a 10-kilometre distance under eight minutes.

The startup says it aims to provide one hundred million people with better access to healthcare by 2025.

Getting defibrillators to cardiac arrest patients as quickly as possible is a priority for emergency services everywhere. In one area of Sweden, 112 call takers will soon be able to dispatch a drone at the same time as an ambulance to drop a defibrillator near the patient if they suspect a cardiac arrest.

The drones were grounded following two incidents in January and May last year. 

The German startup has already been involved in projects trialling the delivery of medical supplies to remote areas.
