The lab, which works with AstraZeneca, Merck, Pfizer, Israel Biotech Fund, Teva Pharmaceuticals, and Amazon Web Services, is currently accepting applicants for its new challenge. 

The connected inhaler's launch will be followed by Teva's other Digihaler products before the end of the year.

The prescription device detects each use and records it to a paired mobile app. 

Teva Pharmaceuticals will acquire Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Gecko Health Innovations (previously known as GeckoCap), a smart inhaler company.

While Teladoc has been pulling in a lot of press lately with its IPO news, competitor American Well has been busy too, securing an eight-figure investment from Israeli pharmaceutical giant Teva, according to a recent report in Israeli publication Globes.
